Hyundai Department Store
This pop-up, held at the Hyundai Department Store Trade Center branch, actively utilized the spatial characteristic of a large, fully exposed front area, focusing on creating an overwhelming visual density that catches the eye instantly from afar.
Considering the unique characteristics of the Trade Center branch, where business and culture intersect, even among relay pop-ups, we delicately layered props that evoke the deepest Korean emotions and nostalgic memories of the past. While boldly avoiding typical traditional styles, we placed soft, warm touches throughout a sleek and modern interior structure to visualize the warm memories associated with hotteok (Korean sweet pancakes). Rather than relying on a temporary aesthetic presentation of a modern pop-up, we thoroughly designed the entire experience, from on-site operations to the customer's final purchasing journey. Reflecting the nature of dessert pop-ups, where takeout demand is overwhelming, we focused on maximizing the completeness of the packaging and operational areas. In particular, we introduced an exquisite detail: placing stamp-shaped stickers reminiscent of Christmas seals or commemorative stamps on the packaging bags, so that the warmth of the memories felt in the space would carry all the way home. This small analog device served as a perfect flow that smoothly controlled the chaotic on-site sales process while functioning as an emotional touchpoint, gifting customers who received the product with fuzzy memories of collecting stamps during childhood. Rather than stopping at a temporary aesthetic presentation of a pop-up, we thoroughly designed the on-site operations and the customer's final purchasing journey. Considering the nature of a dessert pop-up, where takeout demand is overwhelming, we focused on maximizing the completeness of the packaging and operational areas. In particular, to ensure that the warmth of the memories felt in the space would carry over intact to the home, we introduced a sophisticated detail of attaching a stamp-shaped sticker, reminiscent of a Christmas seal or a commemorative stamp, to the packaging bag. This small analog device served as a perfect flow path to smoothly control the crowded on-site sales process, while simultaneously functioning as an emotional touchpoint that gifted customers receiving the product with the warm, fuzzy memories of collecting stamps in their childhood.

Going beyond the limits of a pop-up store that simply sells desserts, we aimed to convey the 'warmth of memories' in the most sophisticated way in the heart of a modern city. This is a record of total space branding, where every operational density on-site was meticulously coordinated—from the visual planning that fills the volume of the massive space to the micro-details of the small adhesive surface of the wrapping paper.
